Shipping is Lame

With my parents selling items internationally through their store and my shipments of gifts to people far away, I can say confidently that, at least in the US, shipping really blows.

Cost

Shipping takes care to make sure your fragile items don't get destroyed during transportation. The US postal system makes you pay your entire skeletal structure to send a package that's heavier than 2 sheets of paper and a pebble, it's crazy.

3rd Party Shipping

There are plenty of disasters in shipping when shipping from places like eBay. When they go to check certain products, they'll slash the box in half for customs which is really irritating if you're sending something of high value in limited quantities in mint condition.

Customs

I get it, not every place in the universe has the same laws for food, drugs, and contraband, but customs can really be a nightmare. I'm grateful that all of my presents I've shipped have kept their custom wrapping, because some places will rip it up and throw it back in the box, which is super disrespectful.
